CHURCH OF THE KING – SCHOOL OF MUSIC POLICIES (BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1, 2010)


  1. Classes are offered on a first-come, frst-served basis. A waiting list will be kept in the event that classes fill up. The parent will be contacted as vacancies become available.

  2. Beginning Monday, February l, 2010, all students are welcome to register and begin classes. In an effort to make the School of Music more accessible to students throughout the year, there will no longer be a "semester" structure. The School of Music will now have a "Rolling Enrollment". Students will be free to enroll (pay the annual registration fee and monthly tuition) on the first day of each month. All classes will begin the first week of each month only. Students will not be able to begin classes or pay in the middle or at the end of the month. All payments will be made online at churchoftheking.com, Events Registration. (Example, if the student wants to start in March, they will pay the $50.00 annual registration fee and the tuition fee online on or by March 1, 2010 and their classes will begin in March; if they want to start in April, they will pay the annual registration fee and monthly tuition fee online on or by April 1$ and their classes will begin in April.)

  3. The Annual Registration Fee is due in January or on the first day of the month of enrollment. The registration fee is due prior to class attendance. (Example, if a new student enrolls in January, the Annual Registration Fee and the first month of tuition will be paid on or by January 1". The registration fee will cover the entire year. Monthly payments will be made (each month) online for February through December. If the student does not want to enroll until April, the annual registration fee and the monthly tuition fee will be paid online on or by April ls, and the classes will start the first week of April. Monthly tuition fees will be paid for the remainder of that year. If the student wishes to continue with the School of Music the following year, the Annual Registration Fee will be due in January of the following year).

  4. Monthly payments are required prior to class attendance and will be paid online at the Church of the King website by credit card, debit card or e-check. The parent or student is responsible for making the online monthly payments.

  5. A $20.00 late fee will apply for all tuition payments received after the 5tr of the month. The student wili not be allowed to ietum after the 5ft of the month if the tuition payment has not been received.

  6. Beginning January 2010, voice, piano, bass and guitar lessons are oflered once a week for 30 minutes at the rate of $80.00 per month. Registration and monthly payments will be made online as explained in paragraphs 2 through 5.

  7. The School of Music follows the St. Tammany Parish school calendar. Some months will have three teaching weeks and some months will have four or five teaching weeks. The School of Music instructors will schedule their own students and will address any questions about scheduling. A summer schedule will be announced soon.

  8. The School of Music offers 45 minute advanced voice lessons that are taught once a week at the rate of $135.00 per month. These lessons are available on a limited basis. All of the policies that apply to voice, piano, bass and guitar lessons will also apply to the advanced voice lessons (See paragraphs 1 through 7).

  9. Each student should give 24 (twenty four) hours notice in the event that they will not be able to attend a lesson to be eligible for rescheduling. The student should contact their teacher directly when they will be unable to attend a lesson. Unexcused absences will be handled at the discretion of the teacher. Unforeseen circumstances such as a death in the family, illness, etc., will be considered exceptions.

  10. The parent or emergency contact authorizes the Worship Ministry to act on their behalf when the parent or emergency contact cannot be contacted IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY resulting in the need of medical attention for the student.

  11. The parent or emergency contact also aglees to hold harmless the Worship Ministry leaders and Church of the King for any accidents as a result of the student's participation in Worship Ministry activities.

  12. The parent or emergency contact gives their permission to Church of the King to photograph and/or videotape their child for special events. Pictures may be posted in classrooms, bulletin boards, worship center screens or the Church of the King website.
