Church of the King has six core values that guide us in all we do. These values keep us aligned with God’s plan and purpose, and the mission He gave us of Reaching People and Building Lives.
Jesus instructs us about our priorities in Matthew 22:37-38, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” We believe that wholehearted submission to Jesus Christ is the starting point of the Christian faith. Scripture is clear that our love for God must come first in every area of our lives.
Scripture makes it clear that God builds through relationships and community. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” God has called all believers to be part of a community, grow in God’s Word together, and encourage, motivate, and pray with one another.
John 3:16 clearly tells us that God loves people sacrificially: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Scripture shows God’s heart is to reach those who don’t know Him. We are passionate about doing the same. People matter to God.
In Matthew 28:19-20, The Great Commission, Jesus says, “GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” God has called all believers to make disciples. One of our primary focuses is to help people build their lives both spiritually and relationally according to God’s Word.
1 Peter 4:10 tells us, “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” God created each and every believer with gifts to use for the benefit of others. We make a difference with our lives by using these gifts to help people know Jesus and grow in every area of their lives.
2 Corinthians 9:11 tells us, “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” As believers, we are instructed to be generous on every occasion with our time, talents, and treasure. Through our generosity, we will bring healing and hope to others, and people will express thanks to God as a result of that generosity.
